The Humblehorse Ranch has been offering summer horse camps for the last 25 years strong, and we are always evolving and expanding!
We have catered our Summer Camp Academy to give our riders more one-on-one time with their horse for the entire time duration at camp.
In our Summer Camp Academy, each rider will be matched with their horse for the entire week, where they will get a chance to build a relationship, experience new things together, and learn proper horse handling, saddling, and grooming techniques. They will cover basic training techniques on the ground and, of course, RIDE! The majority of the time will be spent in the saddle.
Each day will consist of an indoor lesson portion by our certified riding coach Becky Skuter, or one of our other fully certified instructors. These lessons will allow each student to hone and improve on technical riding skills and safety, followed by a long outdoor trail ride with leaders on horseback, as well as safety and guidance !!
These Camps are ideal for EVERYONE ages 9-Adult! We will meet you where you're at within your current skill level, whether that be a beginner level, intermediate level, or more.
Camps run 5 days a week throughout July and August.
Each camp runs in small groups for 3 hours/ day of solid, intense horse time.
Summer Camp Academy runs from 9 am- 12 pm daily, as our afternoons are filled with riding lessons, clinics, exercise rides, and other Summer Academy activities & Events.
Don’t take 3 solid hours of horse time lightly. These camps are geared towards learning, experiencing, and guiding each individual to a new personal level throughout the five days. These camps are intense, very hands-on, and of course extremely FUN.
The camps will take full advantage of our outdoor riding park with over 12 miles of trail, tilled track, and our games park. Our park also features our little canal, which is bordered by thick trees, bushes, and trails as well.
If Rain, wind, or even snow comes our way… no problem! We have it covered! We have a very bright “70x180” Indoor riding arena. Our bunkhouse is the front feature of the arena where we hold theory, lunch, and any other indoor activity that doesn’t involve horses!
All of our staff are highly certified. Becky is a Certified Western Riding Coach and Olds College graduate with over 25 years of experience. All other staff are Humblehorse certified Storm Riders and Instructors.
Some of the things riders can expect to learn and practice hands-on:
Catching, grooming, basic training, tack fitting and care, feeding, horse health, theory, groundwork, and OF COURSE lots of riding time in the saddle, indoor and out!
As we mentioned previously camps are for ages 9- ADULT. We encourage and welcome all of our current Storm Academy and Discovery students to participate in these camps to continue to develop their skills and push the bar forward.
We also welcome all new riders beginner ( never been around a horse ) - intermediate or more!! We will meet you where you're at, match you with your perfect horse for the week and you will leave camp with a whole new set of skills no matter what level you started at!
**We do have a pre-requisite for absolute beginner riders OR riders who have not ridden with The Humblehorse in the past. Since our riding is indoor and out we need each participant to be able to demonstrate basic control, body position, and horse sense( don’t let this scare you away! If you're not there, we will help you get there prior to camps)**
We will be offering some pre-camp “prep” lessons the 3rd week in June for new participants to get ready for their week experience in July or August. We ask you to book at least 1-2 of these group lessons depending on your experience. Speak to your coach Becky to arrange your times and dates.
The Humblehorse Ranch is striving towards doing even better than we have before, and although that’s hard to beat we’re up for the challenge. We are so excited and look forward to this evolving chapter of our summer horse camps! We CANT wait to see you during your camp week!

Please ensure that you print and fill out a new registration form for each new event (but not lesson renewals) even if its in the same year. This is to ensure we have the most current emergency and health information. However waiver forms are valid for the current calendar year. Note that there are two forms to choose from; one for clients over the age of 18 and one for those under age 18.
