The Humblehorse Ranch is spread over 140 acres located on the very western edge of Strathmore AB and 1/2 KM north of Hwy 1, just 30 minutes from Calgary. The property is bordered by a beautiful treed canal offering a beautiful setting for an afternoon trail ride.
Our bed & breakfast Cedar lodge forms the main entrance to the Humblehorse. This is where all the fun begins. Our beautiful 4500 square foot Western Cedar Lodge features a loft, swimming pool and huge wooden decks, and a BBQ area. Inside you'll find two huge stone fireplaces and a good old fashioned piano. An awesome place to relax after a hard ride.
Behind the Lodge you will find spacious corrals and paddocks that would satisfy all your horse boarding needs. And if that's not enough, there's also 90 acres of pasture turnout areas. If you would like to have your horse specially cared for we have six indoor stalls to choose from.
This area also forms the meeting area for our wagon rides.
Our Therapeutic & Western Riding Center, housed in a bright new 70'x180' Coverall fabric building, is located within easy walking (or riding distance) of our stables and is also available for riding. Besides our scheduled programs we have a full calendar of fun events to practice your horse riding skills at .
If you would like to advance your riding skills or just learn to ride we offer western riding lessons, all under the direction of Becky Skuter, our Western Riding Coach, fully certified under Equine Canada and The Alberta Equestrian Federation.
The Humblehorse Therapeutic & Western Riding Center is also dedicated to special needs children and adults. Our mission is to help people improve their health and wellness through the use of equine assisted therapy.
Our Therapeutic Riding programs have benefited those dealing with multiple sclerosis, spina-bifada, cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, fibromyalgia and many other physco-social issues. Our 2008 Theraputic riding schedule will be coming out soon.
Since we train all our own therapy, lesson and trail horses we continually have horses for sale. Because of their temperament and training many of these horses are especially suitable for the beginner and novice riders.
Our special events include Summer Horse Clinics ,for all ages and abilities, adult horsemanship holidays and are all catered by our very own 'Puffer Pete Railway' , a novelty train concession that includes an engine, dining car and caboose.
